A new gourmand from The New Savant, Kimberly, was inspired by co-founder Ingrids childhood. Here, in her own words, she shares the story of one of her most personal creations to date.

“Growing up as a mixed-race girl, I found myself envious of Kimberly the blonde, blue-eyed girl who just seemed to have a much smoother time moving through the world. Kimberlys girlhood was cherished, protected, and celebrated. She was put on a pedestal.

Kimberly is no one particular person, which is why I deliberately chose this name. Its one of the most popular names for girls born in the 80s and 90s, but I dont actually know any Kimberlys. I felt a familiarity with it (Power Rangers, anyone?), but also the ability to use it as a blank canvas for the story ready to unfold.” -Ingrid
